Experienced seniors drive Hornets
It's been 10 years since the Valley Center High School baseball team posted a winning record. It's been seven years since the Hornets broke even. If either of those facts is to change anytime soon, it may be this year.

Experience prompts talk of state tennis title
Last year, juniors Hayden Brauer and Colby Swift teamed up in doubles. They went 29-10 and placed eighth, their second straight state medal. Senior Garrett Rogers compiled a 31-10 record in singles. His ninth-place finish was also his second consecutive piece of state hardware.

Numbers, inexperience create rebuilding mode
This year, the Hornets are short on numbers and experience. Four three-year starters from last year are now playing at the next level. One returning starter opted for track instead of softball.

Girls’ soccer looks to continue success with a mix of old and new faces
Coach Steen Danielsen is excited about this year's group. There are a number of players on this year's roster who he believes can lead the Hornets to success.
