Hornets 9-0 after wins over Central, Buhler

Relay team earns state consideration
On April 9, the Valley Center High School girls' swim team visited Newton for an 11-team invitational. The Hornets finished ninth with 19 points.

Hornets lose to Ark City, split with Eisenhower
Valley Center outhit Ark City 18-15 in losing 17-7 and 11-5 on April 16. The Hornets committed five errors in each game and walked a total of 25 batters.

Hornets drop four league games
The Hornets lost to Ark City on the road April 16 and were swept by Goddard Eisenhower at home April 12.

Golfers improve 13 strokes in a week
Coach Chris Edwards said the weather was perfect and the course was in great shape. Mason Hamm led the Hornets with an 83, which was good enough to finish 15th in of a field of 95.

Hornet tennis team wins Circle quad
The Valley Center high School tennis team won the Circle quad April 11. The Hornets had 27 points, followed by Circle with 21, Haven 9 and Hillsboro 3.

VCMS track teams do well at home quad
The Hornets had several first-place individual finishers.

VCMS tennis team splits two duals
The Hornets were steamrolled by Andover 17-1 on April 9 on the road. Winning in doubles were Karter Voegeli and Edgar Villarreal.
