 DOROTHY JOHNSON Last Updated: April 12, 2018 Dorothy Mae (English) Johnson, 95, of Mulvane, died April 2, 2018. She was born March 18, 1923, to Randolph and Cordelia English in Laurinburg, N.C., the next to the youngest of nine children. She graduated from high school in Laurinburg and trained with the Women's Air Force Service Pilots in Raleigh, N.C. She married Ronald Johnson on June 8, 1945. After his discharge from the Army Air Corps, they moved to Gage, Okla., and farmed for three years. In 1952, they moved to Wichita and she became a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include daughters Donna (M.J.) Lampkin of Wichita and Delia (Terry) Scroggin of Mulvane; grandchildren Darla (Todd) Hedstrom of Kechi, Ryan (Vickie) Scroggin of Derby and Mason (Allie) Lampkin of Wichita; great-grandchildren Anna Hedstrom, Mark Hedstrom, Megan Hedstrom, Colby Lampkin, Sydney Lampkin and Kate Lampkin. Service was April 6 at Smith Family Mortuary, Derby. Memorials to Glen Carr House, 1433 N. Hamilton Dr., Derby KS 67037. |
