‘Missing’ child found asleep
By The News staff
Last Updated: August 13, 2015

A 4-year-old child wasn't missing. He was just asleep.

A woman in the 200 block of North Meridian called police to report that a child was missing Aug. 3. She said there were seven kids playing in the backyard. After 20 minutes, the children noticed that the 4-year-old was missing from the group.

The mother called police. Valley Center officers, a sheriff's deputy, firefighters and officers from other cities checked several houses, yards, parks and schools.

The child was later found asleep in a chair behind some boxes inside the residence.
