Woman arrested after throwing groceries in parking lot
By Chris Strunk
Last Updated: August 13, 2015

A pair of arrests were made over the weekend after an apparent food fight at the South Park Apartment Complex in Valley Center.

Police were called to an apartment at 123 S. Colby late Aug. 8 where a loud disturbance involving three apparently intoxicated individuals was taking place. Officers determined that the disturbance was verbal only. A woman was taken to ComCare to be evaluated after threatening to hurt herself and everyone else, officers said.

The other two individuals were allowed to stay at the complex.

Later, a second disturbance call was dispatched, this time between the two men who stayed behind. There were no signs or allegations of a physical disturbance, so police took one of the men to the Union Rescue Mission to prevent more problems for the night.

About 2 a.m. the next day, officers were called back to the complex when neighbors reported a loud disturbance.

Officers said several grocery items were strewn about the ground and the parking lot. Police said the woman returned to the neighborhood and began to argue with one of the men. She then threw onto the parking lot about $200 worth of groceries she bought earlier

Police arrested the woman, Tracey South, on charges of disorderly conduct and littering. Also arrested was Johnny Fargis on a charge of disorderly conduct.
