School highlights Last Updated: August 13, 2015 School for Valley Center students will start this week. Students in grades one through five, seven and nine and students new to the district will start school Aug. 13. Students in grades six, eight, 10, 11 and 12 will start Aug. 14. ††† Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher Night at Abilene Elementary will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17. ††† Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher Night at West Elementary will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 17. ††† The first day of fall sports practice will be Aug. 17. ††† Valley Center Middle School will host an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17. A parent meeting will take place at 6 p.m. ††† The first full day of school for Valley Center kindergartners will be Aug. 18. ††† The Valley Center Intermediate School will have fifth-grade instrument tryouts Aug. 18. ††† Valley Center High School fall individual portraits and senior portraits are scheduled for Aug. 21. ††† Valley Center Middle School will host its Back to School dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 21. |
