Good story

I knew as soon as I saw the story featuring Bryan and Katie Naccarato, that there would be an opinion show up slamming The News for running it and them for killing a bear. What this narrow-minded person missed was that the story was much more about a father and daughter bonding and building some life-long memories. Too many fathers don't take the time to build such memories with their kids. Too many young people around Katie's age would never think about spending that amount of time alone with their father. Kudos to Bryan and Katie for sharing their story and The News for running it.

No-tax promise?

Wow, the school district rubber-stamping a tax increase. It is amazing how the superintendent and school board continue to lie through their teeth at every opportunity. There was a promise, which means nothing to the superintendent and school board, that there would be no property tax increases needed for many, many years when the bond issue was proposed and passed to build the extravagant new high school. Lie as they always do but the city should have expected that.

Take a lesson

The Valley Center school district needs to take lessons from the Valley Center City Council on how to do their money and not raise taxes on their citizens.
