Hobson named head coach at Friends University
By The News Staff
Last Updated: July 24, 2014

Brent Hobson, who graduated from Valley Center High School in 2007, has been named head coach of the women's soccer team at Friends University.

Hobson will replace Nathan Wilkey, who will remain as head coach of the university's men's team. Hobson served as assistant under Wilkey for the past two seasons.

"We are excited to have Brent join us in a full-time capacity as head coach," said Friends athletic director Joe Zimmerman. "Given his knowledge and passion for the game, we feel he will bring excitement and competitiveness to the program and will guide women's soccer to new heights."

Hobson played for Friends and was named to the all-conference team as a senior in 2011. Hobson also played professionally for the Wichita B-52s last year.

"This is a great opportunity to lead student-athletes and help them achieve their collegiate goals in the classroom and on the field," Hobson said.
