Hornet golfers finish second at Augusta Taylor Messick
    The Valley Center High School golf team placed second at the Augusta Invitational Aug. 30. It was a strong performance for the team at its first event of the season against nine schools.
Hornets stumble, lose league triangular Randy Fisher
    After playing well in sweeping its first triangular of the season, the Valley Center High School volleyball team did an about-face in its second. After winning their first three, three-set matches of the year, the Hornets dropped a pair of three-set matches Sept. 4 to Eisenhower and Goddard.

    The Valley Center High School soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Maize South tournament with a win over McPherson Sept. 4. The Hornets will play Andover Sept. 6 with a chance to make it to the Sept. 8 championships game.
