    In regard to Christina House's letter to the editor in the Oct. 26 issue of The Ark Valley News, I wish to tell her she is not alone. Quite a number of individuals have applied to be on the library board of directors since Mayor Dove has been in office, but were essentially ignored.

    Park City police conducted a welfare check at a home in the 6100 block of North Judson. Before going to the house, officers contacted a female who received a text message from a juvenile at the residence. The female reported that the juvenile sent a picture of a white powdery substance next to her mother's bed.

    Each year, the Kansas Department of Transportation receives money from the state to divvy up for roadway and infrastructure improvement projects. They often have money left over at the end of the year and that money is dispersed to cities for individual projects via grants.

    The Hornets finished 11th out of 12 of the strongest teams in the state with 268 points. There were 102 total runners. The girls initially tied Lansing for 10th but lost the tiebreaker.

    The Hornets announced the first annual Winter Warmup will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the high school. Boys' basketball coach Ty Unrau said the teams wanted an event the community could get excited about.
