Kechi City Council establishes land bank Taylor Messick
City Administrator Bob Conger proposed the idea to the council on May 25 and the idea was further discussed at a recent workshop. The council and staff ultimately agreed that the establishment of a land bank could potentially be a helpful tool in giving the city some control over potential properties and developments within the city.

The Valley Center man, who expressed frustration recently after becoming the victim of a vehicle break-in and burglary, has organized what he's calling a Valley Center Safety Walk, in an effort, he said, to show a unified front against crime.

State test scores disappointing Chris Strunk
On English tests, the number of seventh-graders who scored above grade level or higher was below the state average. Disappointing results were seen in grades six, eight and 10 as well.
