Kechi City Council establishes land bank Taylor Messick City Administrator Bob Conger proposed the idea to the council on May 25 and the idea was further discussed at a recent workshop. The council and staff ultimately agreed that the establishment of a land bank could potentially be a helpful tool in giving the city some control over potential properties and developments within the city.

Resident organizes ‘safety’ walk Chris Strunk The Valley Center man, who expressed frustration recently after becoming the victim of a vehicle break-in and burglary, has organized what he's calling a Valley Center Safety Walk, in an effort, he said, to show a unified front against crime.

State test scores disappointing Chris Strunk On English tests, the number of seventh-graders who scored above grade level or higher was below the state average. Disappointing results were seen in grades six, eight and 10 as well.
