    The Valley Center High School football team, which finished with a 9-2 record (best since 1998) and a regional championship (first since 1996), set or tied several modern-day school records during the 2016 campaign.

    Valley Center Band Aide will have a bingo fundraiser Dec. 1, raising money for the Valley Center High School band program. The event will be at Faith Church, 325 N. Emporia.

    Kaylee Burnett, pitcher, first baseman and slugger for the Valley Center High School softball team, signed a letter of intent Nov. 1 to play for Butler Community College next year.
