Meet the Kirby family at Calvary’s Judgment House The News staff Presentations will be 7 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22, 3 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26, and 7 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29. All performances will be at the church, 320 N. Sheridan in Valley Center. Cost is $4 per person.

Middle school runners finish season with improved times The News staff Owens proudly reported that 29 of the 30 students who ran both the Sept. 13 regular-season meet at Lake Afton and the Oct. 11 Pioneer League II meet on the same course improved their finish times.

Eden opens windshield shop Taylor Messick Last year, Paul let his son move his own business into the vacant building on Paul's property on the west side of Meridian. Chris now does windshield replacement out of the property he calls Kansas Windshield. Chris has obviously been around cars his whole life, but said he wasn't so sure he wanted to work with cars until going to college.

Old Valley Center church gets new life Chris Strunk A group of Wichitans, who have been meeting for worship in rented space in Wichita, purchased the former Church of God building at 229 N. Ash and are using it for their small Spanish-speaking church, Prince of Peace.

Teen arrested after series of morning wrecks Chris Strunk The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said the girl was driving a white Nissan north in the 9300 block of North Seneca when the car left the road and ran into the tree line. The girl kept driving. She went around the Road Closed signs on 93rd Street, went off the road again and then made it to the high school parking lot.

Trucks strike overhead lines The News staff A couple of truck drivers apparently misjudged the height of their vehicles and struck overhead lines during the past week. No one was hurt. None of the lines was electrical.
