    Kenneth Cinotto, 69, died Aug. 4, 2016. He retired from Dillons as a grocery manager after 41 years of service.

    Kevin Charles “KC" Rader, 58, of Wichita, died Aug. 7, 2016. He was a longtime employee of Fremar Corporation and Central Sand Company.

    Mark Wayne McVay, 61, Wichita, died July 24, 2016. He was a former security guard at the Wichita Public Library.

    Mary M. (Rohleder) Strunk, 91, of Wichita, died Aug. 16, 2016. She was a retired nurse.

    First of all, we were pleased with the results, particularly in the contested Kansas Senate District 31 Republican race, where voters chose incumbent Carolyn McGinn of Sedgwick over Renee Erickson of Walton.

    What started as a simple assault call turned into a multi-agency vehicle chase that ended with the arrest of a Protection man with a number of warrants.

    The project started in early 2016 but is taking longer than city officials had hoped. Residents near 53rd North and Broadway pushed for the rebuilding of that intersection nearly a year ago due to the wear and tear of heavy traffic and semis.

Man dies after vehicle hits him The News Staff
    Hugo St. Germain, who was struck by a vehicle while working on a vehicle on the shoulder of I-135 July 31, has died.
Police track glow sticks to river The News Staff
    Teenagers used glow sticks to trace their path to the Arkansas River near 61st and Hoover Aug. 6 so they wouldn't get lost coming back to their vehicles. Police, however, broke up the party.
Pooches fill the public pool The News Staff
