DUI arrests up in Bel Aire David Dinell Arrests for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs has increased in Bel Aire this year. Year to date, Bel Aire police have made 21 arrests for those violations, a 24 percent increase from 17 for all of 2014, according to a report submitted to the City Council by Police Chief Darrell G. Atteberry

Can’t ever do too much for veterans We applaud Officer Adams and the young people at Valley Center Middle School, but we know that the spotlight belongs to the 150 or so military veterans who came to last week's event. All gratitude belongs to them.

Drainage plan moves Boardwalk development forward David Dinell Business development can bring new issues to tackle. The Kechi City Council found that out Nov. 12 when it had to take on the topic of drainage at the proposed Boardwalk development northeast of the corner of Oliver and Kechi Road. The private project is slated to bring new shops and a restaurant to town, businesses the council certainly wants.

Park City Public Building Commission starts work on City Hall/police station David Dinell Three officers were elected at the first meeting of the Park City Public Building Commission Nov. 17. They are: John Goyette, president; Rick Laudner, vice president and Gary Miller, secretary. There are two other members on the body: Lee Copeland and William Judd. The five-member volunteer body is overseeing the design, engineering and construction of the new Park City City Hall/police station building, which is set to be built on the south side of 61st Street between the Medical Plaza of Park City and the Park City library.

Bands were busy this fall Amanda Jolly and Jan Verboom The 2015 high school band, 120 strong, completed a successful marching band season performing “Dark Side of the Moon," featuring the music of David Bowie, Van Morrison and Pink Floyd, along with Mozart, Strauss and Beethoven. The students worked very hard all season, beginning with band camp in early August all the way to the end of October at our final home football game.
