Park City woman killed in wreck David Dinell An attempt to pass a vehicle on a two-lane highway in eastern Kansas resulted in the death of a Park City woman. About 5 p.m. Oct. 30, Dana Horning, 52, was driving east on U.S. Highway 54 in a 2009 Pontiac Torrent when she tried to pass another vehicle. Her vehicle crashed head-on into a westbound pickup and she died at the scene, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Hornets earn fifth place at state meet David Dinell The Hornets were led by sophomore Karli Elsner, who clocked a 20:03 in the 5K, putting her at 15th place out of the field of 84 runners. She received a medal for her performance.

Kids clinics, wrestling club sign-ups set The News staff Valley Center High School wrestling coaches will host two free clinics, Nov. 10 and 12, in the high school wrestling room. All wrestlers, regardless of ability, are welcome to attend these clinics. Their focus will be on basic technique, drills and skills leading into the season.
