Bel Aire approves land sale in Sunflower Commerce Park Matt Heilman A second tenant appears to be on its way to Bel Aire's industrial park known as the Sunflower Commerce Park. At its June 4 meeting, the Bel Aire City Council approved a real estate purchase agreement with JDC Property Group LLC to buy two lots and a portion of a third, totaling about 21 acres at $22,500 per acre.

Bel Aire nurse convicted of health care fraud The News staff A Bel Aire nurse has been convicted on several charges related to a Medicaid fraud scheme, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a May 31 news release.

Work on health, wellness resort begins Matt Heilman Construction is finally set to begin on a project that has been six years in the making. Joined by Bel Aire city leaders, business partners, investors and friends, developer Terrie Grillot finally had her chance to pop a bottle of champagne.

She earned an elementary education degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and is a fourth-grade teacher in Alva, Okla., where she lives.

|
Dawgs have strong league start Matt Heilman It's early. The roster isn't complete and the team is young. But the Valley Center Diamond Dawgs held serve through the first week of the season and sit at 6-2 through their eight games in the Walter Johnson League. The Dawgs capped their first slate of games with a June 4 double-header sweep on the road against the Kansas Cannons. Valley Center won its first game 6-1 and finished the sweep with a 6-3 win in game two.
