Police reports

July 25 — Officer Rasheed Berry checked Valley Center parks.

July 25 — Officer Austin Hart made a warrant arrest during a traffic stop at 1100 S. Meridian. Driver Gage Scot Hickert was arrested on a Sedgwick County bench warrant for a probation violation charge.

July 25 — Officer Austin Hart confirmed a warrant. Megan Nichole Wagner was arrested by Sedgwick County deputies on a Valley Center warrant for a failure to appear charge.

July 25 — Officer Austin Hart assisted McPherson police by making contact with an individual at 500 W. Parkway Drive. Hart assisted by contacting the registered owner of a vehicle that was involved in a pursuit. A male said he sold the vehicle.

July 25 — Officer Austin Hart assisted EMS in the 500 block of West Main. A female was suffering from chest pains and was transported to St. Francis in Wichita.

July 24 — Officer Liliana Garcia assisted Maize police with a juvenile in need of care at 45th North and Tyler.

July 24 — Officer Liliana Garcia assisted EMS at 1341 S. Meridian. The calling party reported that an individual fell down while walking. The male was transported to St. Joseph in Wichita.

July 24 — Officer Liliana Garcia assisted a motorist at 400 S. Meridian. A Honda broke down and Garcia assisted in getting the vehicle out of the roadway.  

July 24 — Officer Eric Leeker made an arrest on multiple charges during a traffic stop at 6500 N. Meridian. Joshua Woodman was arrested on charges of possession of stimulants, driving without a valid driver's license, driving with an expired registration, no proof of liability insurance and failing to signal within 100 feet of a turn.

July 24 — Officer Jerry Ezell made a drug arrest during a traffic stop at 1000 S. Meridian. A motorist was pulled over and would not comply with orders from Ezell; the driver called 911 during the stop. A search was conducted and Ezell located methamphetamines, cannabis and paraphernalia. Driver Dylan Feilmeier was arrested on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.  

July 23 — Officer Liliana Garcia responded to a disturbance at 821 W. Third Street Terrace. Staff reported that a resident was upset. Leann Venils was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

July 23 — Officer Jerry Ezell checked a residence at 418 N. Sheridan. The calling party was suspicious of an individual who was cleaning the residence and asked officers to keep an eye on the property because there was a break-in the previous week.

July 23 — Officer Jerry Ezell made an arrest on multiple charges during a traffic stop at 100 S. Abilene. Ezell contacted a motorist who he observed leaving a truck and trailer on the side of the road. The individual was identified and was found to be a habitual violator who was driving while revoked. The truck was flagged as stolen from Wichita and the U-Haul trailer was also flagged as stolen. Located inside the vehicle were a syringe, a sawzall and a catalytic converter. Cody Schack was arrested on two charges of possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, driving while revoked and being a habitual violator.

July 23 — Officer Jerry Ezell made contact with an individual at Park and Ness. The calling party was suspicious of a vehicle parked near the tree row. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle who was aware it was there.

July 22 — Officer Liliana Garcia assisted EMS with a sick person at 69th North and Meridian.

July 22 — Officer Liliana Garcia checked for a wanted suspect at 4615 N. Ridge.

July 22 — Officer Jerry Ezell made a warrant arrest in the 6200 block of North Sullivan. Aaron Hittle was arrested on a Sedgwick County warrant for sex crime charges involving a juvenile.

July 22 — Officer Jerry Ezell confiscated items during a traffic stop at Clay and Ash. Ezell conducted a stop after observing a vehicle with only one headlight illuminated. An odor of cannabis was detected and a search was conducted. Cannabis and paraphernalia items were confiscated for future destruction.

July 22 — Officer Jerry Ezell made a DUI arrest and issued a citation during a traffic stop at 61st North and Seneca. An odor of alcohol was detected and standard field sobriety testing was conducted. Driver Martha Ramirez-Rodriguez was arrested on charges of DUI, endangering a child, driving without a license and transporting an open container of alcohol. A passenger was also cited for transporting an open container.

July 22 — Officer Jerry Ezell responded to an alarm that was deemed false at 230 S. Sheridan.

July 22 — Officer Jerry Ezell arrested a motorist during a traffic stop at Sheridan Court and Sheridan Avenue. Ezell conducted a stop after determining that the registered owner of a vehicle was flagged for a suspended license. The driver incorrectly identified himself and later admitted he was afraid of getting in trouble. Aaron Roberts was arrested on charges of interfering with a law enforcement officer, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

July 21 — Officers Liliana Garcia and Rasheed Berry checked for a wanted suspect at 319 Southwind Drive.

July 21 — Officers Liliana Garcia and Rasheed Berry checked for a wanted suspect at 909 Clover Lane.

July 21 — Officers Liliana Garcia and Rasheed Berry checked for a wanted suspect at 226 E. Allen.

July 21 — Officers Austin Hart and Jerry Ezell responded to a disturbance at 821 W. Third Street Terrace. The calling party reported a disturbance but everything appeared to be OK.

July 20 — Officers Rasheed Berry, Jeremy Manning and Scott Hamlin confirmed warrants. Samuel Morris was arrested on four Valley Center warrants at 1110 N. Emporia in Wichita.  

July 20 — Officers Rasheed Berry, Jeremy Manning and Scott Hamlin assisted EMS with an individual who overdosed in the 8900 block of North Kessler.

July 20 — Officers Greg Fox and Scott Hamlin responded to a report of theft at 116 S. Colby. A male reported that a handgun was stolen from his truck sometime during the previous two weeks.

July 19 — Det. Glen Davidson assisted an individual at 821 W. Third Street Terrace.

July 19 — Det. Glen Davidson responded to a disturbance at 423 W. Third. A male got into a fight with his brother and wanted him removed from the residence. The calling party's brother gathered his belongings and was picked up by a family member.

July 19 — Officers Greg Fox and Scott Hamlin performed a welfare check at 127 S. Colby. The reporting party said he heard yelling coming from a neighbor's apartment. Nothing was located.

July 19 — Officers Greg Fox and Scott Hamlin responded to a report of fraud at 222 S. Meridian. A female reported that an unknown individual used her debit card at Casey's without permission.

July 19 — Officer Austin Hart performed a welfare check at 200 W. Southwind. The calling party requested a check on a resident but no contact was made.

July 19 — Officer Austin Hart assisted EMS with an individual who was suffering from chest pains at 100 N. Abilene. A female asked to be transported to St. Francis in Wichita.
