Swimmers qualify for districts

The Valley Center Swim Club competed in the Great Plains Swim League Finals July 12 through 14.

The boys and girls teams each placed third out of seven teams.

Several swimmers achieved district-qualifying times during the season and at the league meet. The Missouri Valley District Championships West will be July 19 through 21 in Wichita.

In the 15- to 18-year-old girls division, Emily Bailey qualified in the 50-meter freestyle; Shelby Beckmann in the 200 freestyle, 100 back and 100 freestyle; and Sierra Williams in the 50 free and 100 free.

In the 13-14 girls division, Ashlyn Butcher qualified in the 200 free, 100 back and 100 free; Makayla Milligan in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke; and Teagen Patterson in the 50 free and 100 butterfly.

In the 11-12 girls division, Chandler Tripp qualified in the 50 free, 50 butterfly and 200 individual medley.

In the 9-10 girls division, Katelynn Enegren qualified in the 50 free and 50 butterfly; and Elianah Milligan in the 50 free, 50 butterfly and 200 individual medley.

In 13-14 boys, Kolton Holmes qualified in the 100 free; Avery Morand in the 100 breaststroke; and Brock Wallace in the 50 free, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Wallace, Homes, Jeremiah Walker and Morand also achieved a qualifying time in the 200 freestyle relay.

In 11-12 boys, Riggs Patterson qualified in the 50 backstroke and 100 free.

In 9-10 boys, Donovan Sheern qualified in the 50 butterfly.
