VCMS track teams do well at home quad

The Valley Center Middle School track team hosted a quad April 15.

The Hornets had several first-place individual finishers.

For the eighth-grade girls, top placers included Sykora Smith in the 100-meter hurdles and Ashlyn Nelson in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

For the seventh-grade girls, Abigail Anderson was first in the discus, Kamryn Spall first in the shot put, Natalie Webb in the 100-meter dash, Rylie Bowyer in the 200-meter hurdles and Carson Holdaway in the 200-meter dash.

For the eighth-grade boys, Logan Davis was first in the shot put, Nolan Bevan first in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and Cameron Bowyer in the 400-meter run

For the seventh-grade boys, Rock Schomaker was first in the 200-meter dash.

Last week's scheduled meet at Wellington was postponed to May 2. Valley Center will host an invitational April 22 and travel to Prairie Hills April 25.
