Park City OKs improvements for expansion in High Ridge By Taylor Messick Last Updated: November 15, 2018 The Park City council unanimously approved petitions Nov. 13 for internal improvements to phase five of the High Ridge Second Addition near 69th North and Hydraulic. Council gave the go-ahead for paving, sewer and water improvements, pending a letter of credit from the developer. On April 24, the council approved the sale of 80 acres of land in High Ridge to Elite USA LLC Construction for $661,000. The developer has plans for 172 2,500-square-foot homes at $190,000. The initial phase is 37 lots. The land has been paid for and the city agreed to develop the land pending a 35 percent letter of credit. "There's two paving (petitions)," said City Administrator Jack Whitson. "One is paving a portion of 69th Street. The other is paving within the subdivision for those 37 lots. There is a large sewer line that we're participating (with) in order to get the sewer over to these 37 lots. For water, we'll tie into the existing water line that was put in phase three a couple years ago." The council also approved contracts with K.E. Miller Engineering for phases four and five of High Ridge Second Addition with a pair of 7-0-1 votes. The city has received the required letter of credit to move forward on phase four and is awaiting the letter of credit for phase five. In other business, the council: •Unanimously voted to contribute an extra $4,000 to the Park City Wichita Classic wrestling tournament to match the city's normal contribution of $16,000. •Unanimously voted to hire WSP Engineering for design services of 61st Street from the Broadway intersection west to the Wichita-Valley Center Floodway with engineering fees to be paid out of the MTBE fund until general obligation bonds are complete to reimburse the MTBE fund. •Unanimously rejected a proposal from Jordan Noone to purchase the east 90 feet of Poston Park north and adjacent to Fairchild for $5,000. •Unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the sale of general obligation bonds, series 2019-A. •Unanimously approved the addition of an employee assistance program through EMPAC to the employee benefit program at a cost of $1.50 per employee per month. All members of the council were present and there was no executive session. |
