Police reports

Nov. 4 — Officer Rasheed Berry assisted EMS in the 100 block of South Dexter.

Nov. 4 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 9224 W. 82nd North with a possible trespassing by former renters. No one was there when he arrived.

Nov. 4 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 109th North and Hoover by checking for a possible accident with a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle was gone when he arrived.

Nov. 4 — Officers Scott Hamlin and Erik Nygaard responded to a disturbance with people yelling at 446 N. Elm. Everyone was OK, and it was verbal only.

Nov. 3 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of North Colby.

Nov. 3 — Officers Eric Leeker and Jerry Ezell looked for and arrested a wanted person at 5501 N. Sheridan.

Nov. 3 — Officer Eric Leeker served a subpoena at 521 S. Stoneridge.

Nov. 3 — Officer Eric Leeker processed a warrant service at 621 S. Stoneridge.

Nov. 3 — Officer Eric Leeker assisted EMS at 427 N. Emporia.

Nov. 3 — Officer Jerry Ezell arrested Earl Williams at 5535 N. Gow for a Valley Center warrant.

Nov. 3 — Officers Jerry Ezell and Ryan Mumma responded to a suspicious person with a gun at 200 W. Main. The calling party reported seeing a young man walking around with a rifle. The officers were unable to find anyone. The calling party didn't wish to be contacted back.

Nov. 3 — Officer Jerry Ezell responded to 314 W. Clay and assisted a resident having trouble locking the community building.

Nov. 3 — Officers Jerry Ezell and Ryan Mumma stopped a motorist in the 600 block of North Meridian. The vehicle was searched after officers smelled marijuana coming from it. They found a handgun, with the serial number scratched off and unreadable, and a 30-round magazine. Officers arrested Cesar Ornelas on a charge of defacing identification marks on a handgun.

Nov. 2 — Officer Eric Leeker checked a residence of a deceased person at 109 N. Colby and found an open garage door. He searched the garage and house and nothing appeared to be missing or out of place. The calling party has power of attorney and exclusive rights to the house. She reported that family members were at the house and she did not want them there. Officer told the family if they did not leave or if they returned, they would be trespassing and subject to charges and/or arrest.

Nov. 2 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a reported burglary report at 100 S. Birch that turned out to be a welfare check. The calling party reported that her cellphone and landline were hacked. Officer showed her how to use her phones, assuring her they were not hacked. He offered to take her to COMCARE but she refused.

Nov. 2 — Officer Jerry Ezell responded to a non-injury accident at 949 N. Meadow.

Nov. 1 — Officer Jerry Ezell assisted EMS in the 100 block of North Abilene.

Nov. 1 — Officer Jerry Ezell stopped a driver in the 9600 block of North Meridian. He cited the driver for no driver's license in possession. Officer arrested the passenger, Randi Serna, for warrants from Wichita and Sedgwick County.

Oct. 31 — Officers Rasheed Berry and Eric Leeker assisted animal control at Third and Abilene. Two pit bulls were chasing people into their homes. Both dogs were returned home safely.

Oct. 31 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Ryan Mumma stopped a motorist in the 400 block of South Meridian for a traffic infraction. They arrested Brian Newman for a Wichita warrant and on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Oct. 30 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to a suspicious person at 201 S. Meridian. A man was reportedly walking in and out of Subway, looking at the workers. Berry spoke with the suspect who agreed to leave.

Oct. 30 — Officer Rasheed Berry assisted Valley Center fire and EMS at 8928 N. 71st West with an injury accident.

Oct. 29 — Officer Rasheed Berry responded to a reported sexual assault.

Oct. 29 — Officer Scott Hamlin and Erik Nygaard responded to an alarm at the Pizza Hut. It was false.
