Medallion hunt a warmup to festival
By The News staff
Last Updated: September 13, 2018

The 57th Valley Center Fall Festival is around the corner.

To get revelers in the Fall Fest spirit, the Fall Festival Medallion Hunt is getting underway this week.

A medallion has been hidden on public property somewhere in the city limits of Valley Center just waiting for the lucky or determined sleuth to find it. The person who does find it will be eligible for a cash award of $500 (if he or she has a hunting license and a Fall Festival wristband).

Licenses will be available at Medallion Hunt sponsors — Bryan's Heating & Air Conditioning, Ark Valley News, Valley Offset Printing, Baker Funeral Home, the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce, Boyd Accounting, the Valley Center Recreation Commission, and the Valley Center Public Library.

A full set of contest rules and a hunting license are inside this week's News.

Fall Festival will be Sept. 21 and 22. Most activities, including the popular Ottaway carnival, will take place in downtown Valley Center.

The Fall Festival theme is #VCIsThePlaceToBe.
