DUANA STARKS

Duana Dee Jabara Starks, 82, of Bel Aire, died Sept. 5, 2018.

She was born April 16, 1936, to Farris George and Hanna H. Jabara of Burden. After graduating from Burden High School, she attended Wichita University and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. In 1963, she married Charles Berton Starks Jr. in St. George Orthodox Christian Church. They divorced in 1981. She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Price Elementary School clubs and fundraisers.

She was preceded in death by sister Elsie Nimrod and twin sister Donna Baker; brothers Jerry Jabara, Edward Jabara, Walter Kay Jabara, Everett Jabara and Fran Jabara; and brother-in-law Jay Galloway. Survivors include sister Helen Galloway; son Charles "C.B." Berton (Deborah) Starks III; daughters Hanna (Nolan) Collins and Grace (David) Bean; nine grandchildren; sisters-in-law Geri Jabara and Paula Crook; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Sept. 8 at Grace Presbyterian Church, Wichita. Memorials to TAPS (www.taps.org). Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, Wichita, had charge.
