 BETTY SCOTT Last Updated: September 13, 2018 Betty Ruth (Parcher) Scott, 93, of Wichita, died Sept. 7, 2018. She was born July 29, 1925, in Garber, Okla., to Orval G and Lillian Madge (Morgan) Parcher. She moved to Wichita at age 20 and worked for Southwestern Bell. She married Orin Wayne Scott on Jan. 19, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Jean Price and Mary Blackburn, and grandchild Taylor Bolte. Survivors include son Steve (Dorcas) Scott of Kansas City, Mo., daughters Karen Northrop and Mary Gartland, both of Wichita, and Leslie (Ben) Bolte of Valley Center; grandchildren Brad (Marni) Scott, Jessica Horn, Zach Scott, Eric (Jessica) Northrop, Thomas (fiancee' Elena) Northrop, Tim Gartland, Brian (fiancee' Tia) Gartland, Connor Bolte and Lillian Bolte; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, 6555 E. Central, Wichita. A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at Countryside Christian Church, Wichita. Memorials with Countryside Christian Church, 1919 S. Rock Road, Wichita KS 67207. |
