JANELL DUNN

Janell Louise (Wilson) Dunn, 79, of Sedgwick, died Sept. 6, 2018.

She was born June 9, 1939, in Wichita, to Milton L. "Jim" and Helen "Pauline" (Pearce) Wilson. She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1957. She married G. Dwaine Dunn on June 8, 1958. She was active with the First Christian Church in Sedgwick and Broadway Christian Church in Wichita as a youth sponsor, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, children's choir director and adult choir member. She worked in food service and the office of the Sedgwick school district. She also worked in the Wichita school district at Linwood and Rea Woodman schools and in the district office, where she retired as an administrative assistant to the superintendent.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 60 years; children Deaune (Tim) Maddock of Topeka, Dennis (Ellen) Dunn of Ballwin, Mo., and Doug (Becky) Dunn of Valley Center; grandchildren Chris Maddock, Aleesha (Isaac) Wilson, Sarah Maddock, Douglas (Anastasia) Dunn, Brian Dunn, Heather (John) Moran, Caleb Dunn, Cameron (Kyla) Dunn, Kelsey Dunn, Nathanael Dunn and Meghan Dunn; great-grandchildren Logan and Declan Dunn; brother Dr. James (Vivien) Wilson of Tucson, Ariz.; and many other family and friends.

A celebration of life was held Sept. 9 and services were Sept. 10, both at First Christian Church in Sedgwick. Graveside was at White Chapel Cemetery, Wichita.

Memorials to First Christian Church, 514 N. Franklin, Sedgwick KS 67135. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center had charge.
