Support of new business encouraging
Last Updated: September 13, 2018

Starting a business, especially a retail shop that depends on traffic, in a small town is difficult.

That's why we applaud the efforts of Sophannarath "Pon" Toeur and his wife for opening The Hornets Nest Daylight Donuts at Fifth and Meridian.

We understand that the first few days were a bit hectic for the business.

As an owner, it must be tough to anticipate the public's initial reaction to a new business. How much stock do you need? How many employees? Which hours work the best?

The upside is, there was an obvious pent-up demand for a donut shop in Valley Center.

Fortunately, most people are patient and understanding, especially if good donuts are involved.

"I think having a donut shop is a great addition to the city," one shopper told The News.

We agree.
