Valley Victors

Do you remember making those origami fortune tellers as a kid? They're still around. Lindsey Reynolds showed us how to make one. She made it out of paper. First you write numbers, colors and then fortunes inside. You play the game with a friend and ask them to pick a number, then a color and then you read their fortune.

Brenden Crouch demonstrated how to collect honey from his hive. He hasn't gotten stung from collecting the honey. He showed us his 3-pound jar of honey. He doesn't have enough to sell yet.

Lindsey Reynolds led the Flag Salute and 4-H Pledge. The "Thought for the Day" was given by Tommy Spratt.

Roll call was: "What are you going to miss about summer?"

We have two new members — Hunter Fletcher and Miranda Walker.

In November, we will celebrate the Valley Victors 4-H Club's 70th anniversary. We have a committee working on the plans.

This year's paraade theme is: #vcistheplacetobe. We will be having a float in the parade.

Record books, pin applications and officer applications were due and turned in.

Refreshments were brought by the Kroupa and Reynolds families.

For recreation we got in the splash park at McLaughlin Park where we held our meeting.

Our next meeting will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9 at West Elementary. For more information, call Nancy Anderson at 755-0205.
