RONALD FARTHING SR.

Ronald E. Farthing Sr., 86, of Wichita, died July 13, 2018.

He was born April 4, 1932, in Albany, Mo., to Rhuben C. Farthing and Thelma L. Smith.

He was a retired technical publications manager at the Boeing Military Aircraft Company and a retired Valley Center police detective. He was a Shriner, Mason, American Legion member and a National Weather Service storm spotter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard, grandson Jeremy C. Hensley and son-in-law David G. Hensley. Survivors include daughters Cheryl D. Hensley and Rhonda R. (James) Presley; son Ronald E. Farthing Jr. (Pat Noullet); granddaughters Jessica D. (Wade) Davis, Madison C. (Derrick) Schmidt and Katie Mosiman; grandson Robert J. Jones; great-grandson Quentin E. Davis; brothers Fred M. and Roger L. Farthing; sister Betty L. Belshe, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 20 at Valley Center Cemetery. Memorials to the W.A.A.L. (Wichita Animal Action League) Rescue and Shriners Children's Hospital. Hillside Funeral Home West has charge.
