Police track down hit-and-run car
By The News staff
Last Updated: March 15, 2018

They could run, but they couldn't hide. Not in Valley Center.

The owner of a Chevy Equinox that struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Valley Center United Methodist Church March 2 was identified five days later and ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident.

Late March 7 in the 400 block of South Meridian, police stopped a car that matched the description of the vehicle that drove away from the church parking lot at Fifth and Meridian. The officer discovered that the vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run.

Damage to the parked vehicle was more than $1,000, according to a police report.
