The View from Sunflower Gardens By Marilyn Bentley Last Updated: December 14, 2017 Christmas shows us how to care When you care enough, you can change a life or change the world. This Christmas season shows us how to care, how to share. It's about others. Verse of the week: “Sing unto the Lord a new song all the earth." (Psalms 96:1) It's December. At Sunflower Gardens, we like our Monday coffee chats, Tuesday Bible study, game nights, music concerts, dinners and walks down our halls. “We can't all soldiers be. Bold men who fight the wars to win a victory. Some must stay at home and toil. They are no less brave, the men who stay at home with ordinary jobs, who save the land for those who roam. They serve their country well." — C.P. Campbell The light of the world in our lives refreshes us with charity. “In winter's wind and cold — all fields bare — every tree branch, now is bare. We like the snow to share." — C.P. Campbell Snowflakes frosted all the shrubs and trees and fence. What a gift. “How fortunate we are this time of year, that Christmas once again brings faith and cheer. A tiny child, born in a manger bed, orders lives which are bewildered." — C.P. Campbell Remember to keep our troops and their families in your prayers and the president and Congress. If three wishes I would choose, for happy ever after — the things the world could use are love, bread and laughter. “I believe the angels sang on high as the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing. “I believe we must continue to strive for world peace and freedom, though the cost is great. “I believe in the future generation. “I believe red-hot girls have it right: no rules, no officers — just eat out, shop, listen to each other, relax. “I believe in the star guiding wise men from afar — but for bringing light to a dark world. “I believe as a Christian we must continue to sing: Glory to the Newborn King." — Val Anderson “Remember, the cold begins to strengthen when the days begin to lengthen." — anonymous Here at Sunflower we decorated several trees with lights and colorful, unique decorations. Different residents put theirs on our trees. So bright colorful lights bring beauty to dark corners in our lobby. Thank you to all the road repairmen. They make the way easier to go shopping or visit family. “Be kind, anyway." — Mother Teresa “Don't count the days, make the days count." — Muhammad Ali |
