Senior signs to play soccer at Tabor By Taylor Messick Last Updated: December 07, 2017 Valley Center High School senior Tyson Ridenour signed a letter of intent Nov. 29 to play soccer at Tabor College in Hillsboro. Ridenour ended his high school soccer career with 16 goals and eight assists. “I wasn't really planning on playing after school, I just wanted to see what offer I would get," said Ridenour. Ridenour was first noticed by one of Tabor's assistant coaches. “The assistant coach, David Simmet, was the primary recruiter for Tyson and he saw him play several times this year during his high school season," said Tabor's head coach Grant Brubacher. “We were looking for some attacking players that we thought fit a particular style and fit with the team." Valley's head coach Steen Danielsen said Ridenour's ability to create on the field will follow him to the collegiate level. “He's a really creative player and a really tenacious player," said Danielsen. “That's something that's really refreshing to have because there are a lot of kids where their coach will say if X happens then you follow this procedure, and Tyson just plays within the game and he creates with the game." Ridenour said he is excited to move to a new level of play and to push himself. “I'm just looking forward to the higher level of play, and just being in a new situation," said Ridenour. |
