Local Lions Club honors military veterans By The News staff Last Updated: November 16, 2017 The Valley Center Lions Club honored members and guests for their military service Nov. 9. The meeting began with Boy Scout Troop 494 presenting the colors and leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Staff Sgt. Jake Senecal with the Kansas Air National Guard spoke about his experiences in the military and serving in the Middle East this past year. Lions member Laurel Anderson presented first- and second-place Peace Poster prize winners, Taylor Bruckner and Isabelle House, both of Valley Center, with their awards. The meeting was attended by 52 Lions members and guests with 14 veterans present. |
