Highlights Last Updated: November 16, 2017 Cassity Morlan, Kechi, competed Oct. 27 and 28 as part of the Kansas Wesleyan Forensic and Debate team in Mankato, Minn. The team attended the Vocal Viking Debate and Forensic Tournament on the campus of Bethany Lutheran University. In individual competition, the Coyotes more than held their own with 11 awards. Morlan placed third with partner Autumn Zimmerman in Parliamentary Debate. This was the largest tournament in its 25-year history with 20 schools in attendance. Northwestern University and South Dakota State University won school sweepstakes honors. ††† Anna Taylor, Valley Center, was part of the cast and crew for Kansas Wesleyan University's production of “The Spitfire Grill." The musical, about redemption set in the Midwest, was staged Oct. 26 through 28. Taylor played the part of Hannah Ferguson. ††† The Park City Senior Center, 6100 N. Hydraulic, will host a country dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 18 to celebrate the birthdays of Virginia Wheeler, Pat Palmer and Connie Stoner. The Wildwood Band will perform. Everyone is welcome. A $4 donation will be collected at the door. Refreshments will be served, and there will be door prizes. Bring a covered dish or snack to share. Douglas, Wichita. Christmas cheer and hors d'oeuvres begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a silent auction and raffle. Dinner will be at 7:30 p.m. with an auction by McCurdy Auction.
