VERLA ROBERTS

Verla May (Bradbury) Roberts, 89, of Wichita, died Oct. 1, 2017.

She was born in Wichita to Herman E. Bradbury and Thelma (Burnside) Bradbury. She graduated from Wichita North High School in 1946. She worked at Woolworth's, as a bookkeeper for Frederick Plumbing in Wichita and as a typist for New York Life. She was a longtime member of the EHU “The Blue Haze" Extension Homemaker Unit and was its treasurer for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Royce Bradbury and sister Naiola Marvel.

Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years, Joe Roberts; son Alan Roberts of Arkadelphia, Ark.,; daughter Lynne Roberts (Cindy Goeffert) of Harahan, La.; grandchildren Stephanie Roberts, Jennifer Roberts and Erika Roberts; mother of her granddaughters Susan Roberts; brother Darryl Bradbury; and many other family and friends.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 12 at the Sunnydale Park Cemetery, located near Hydraulic and East 101st North. The family will receive guests after the service at Kiwanis Park Community Center, 5101 W. 2nd North, Wichita. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 330 S. Main, Wichita KS 67202. Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center has charge.
