Hunt for medallion a Fall Fest kickoff
By The News staff
Last Updated: September 21, 2017

The 56th edition of Valley Center Fall Festival is around the corner.

To kick things off, the Fall Festival Medallion Hunt has begun.

A medallion has been hidden on public property somewhere in the city limits of Valley Center just waiting for the lucky sleuth to find it. The person who does will be eligible for a cash award of $500 (if he or she has a hunting license and a Fall Festival wristband).

Licenses will be available at Medallion Hunt sponsors — Bryan's Heating & Air Conditioning, Ark Valley News, Valley Offset Printing, Baker Funeral Home, the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce and Boyd Accounting.

A full set of contest rules and a hunting license are inside this week's News.

Fall Festival will be Sept. 22 and 23. Most activities, including the popular Ottaway carnival, will take place in downtown Valley Center.

Theme of the festival is “Valley Through the Ages."

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 23.
