Duplex development to be built north of Walmart
By Taylor Messick
Last Updated: July 13, 2017

A housing development is taking shape just north of Walmart at 53rd and Meridian.

The development will contain 21 duplexes. Sewer and water projects have already been completed. The developer said he expects the streets to be completed in about two months and then crews will start to build.

The developer said multi-family homes are one of the hottest markets in town. He said he has been successful renting those types of properties. These duplexes will be similar to ones at 45th North and Hillside. They will each come with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. There will be a playground and basketball court on-site.

The exteriors of properties in the housing development will be maintained by a homeowners association management company, an effort to be sure properties are well taken care of.

The same developer also plans to build new single-family homes in the nearby Watermark addition when the project is complete.
