The average price for a gallon of gas in the Wichita area fell 2.5 cents during the past week, averaging $1.98 on June 25. The national average fell 2.6 cents to $2.25, according to GasBuddy.com. She said a backpack, ice skates and a baseball were taken. The woman said it likely happened around 1 a.m. and that she may have left the car unlocked with a spare key in the cup holder. Officers found the ice skates and baseball at the house behind the reporting party's residence. ... On June 19, a Valley Center police officer responded to the 300 block of North Birch, where a 7-year-old was bitten on the face by a neighbor's dog. EMS was called, and a parent transported the child to Wesley. ... The Ark Valley News office will be closed July 4 for Independence Day. The office at 210 W.
