Police reports

May 28 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 100 S. Ash for a parking complaint. He red-tagged a semitractor. The driver later said he would move it when he could get it started.

May 28 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Valley Center fire at 222 S. Meridian. A person was seen dumping a fuel container into the trash can. It wasn't fuel that was dumped.

May 28 — Officer J.C. Kirk performed community policing in Lions Park.

May 28 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 8112 Timbercreek Court by helping take a potential suicidal person into custody.

May 28 — Officers Ryan Mumma, Rasheed Berry and Jeremy Manning assisted Maize police at 61st North and Tyler with a shots fired call. The calling party reported hearing a gun shot and then screaming. No one was found in the area.

May 28 — Officer Jeremy Manning assisted a resident at 309 S. Stoneridge in unlocking a car with the keys locked inside.

May 28 — Officers Ryan Mumma, Rasheed Berry and Jeremy Manning responded to a disturbance at 7003 N. Interurban. Several people had been drinking, and a physical altercation occurred. No arrests were made, but uniform criminal complaints were issued.

May 27 — Officer Joe Dessenberger responded to the 100 block of South Colby where a landlord wanted a vehicle cited for parking on his grass. The vehicle was cited for parking left wheels to the curb after confirming it was not stolen. The owner was not present.

May 27 — Officer Joe Dessenberger responded to the 7900 block of North West Street to check an abandoned vehicle. It was tagged.

May 27 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted Park City police in the 7300 block of North Hydraulic by blocking the road for fire trucks working a house fire.

May 27 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a non-injury accident at 222 S. Meridian.

May 27 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to 807 N. Meadow. The calling party said a known woman had been making the calling party pay her money each month.

May 27 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to an alarm in the 300 block of East Seventh. Everything was secure, and nothing looked out of place. The alarm was false.

May 26 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to 810 S. Meridian after receiving an anonymous tip to check the welfare of an individual.

May 26 — Officer Ryan Mumma checked for a wanted person at 601 E. Valley Park Drive.

May 26 — Officer Erik Nygaard assisted KHP with a vehicle pursuit in the 6800 block of North Ridge Road.

May 25 — Officer Sara Schaller spoke on the phone with a resident who said his mother-in-law was making harassing phone calls to him and his wife, despite being told they do not want contact with her. A report was made for documentation.

May 25 — Officer Sara Schaller followed up on a case at 529 W. Deerfield.

May 25 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to a 911 hang-up call at 744 N. Meridian. Everything was OK. It was unknown how the call happened.

May 25 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to a disturbance at 2216 E. Ford. The calling party said a tenant was on his property and refused to leave. Officer spoke with the tenant, and he left. Arrangements were made for the tenant to get his belongings at a later date.

May 25 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Eric Leeker assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 7158 W. 53rd North with a residential robbery. The suspect was found after setting up a perimeter.

May 24 — Officers Sara Schaller, J. C. Kirk and Allen Adams monitored traffic at Main and Meridian. Several seatbelt violations were cited.

May 24 — Officers Sara Schaller, J. C. Kirk and Allen Adams checked a man walking at Ford and Broadway. He was OK and did not want a ride or any assistance.

May 24 — Officers Sara Schaller, J. C. Kirk and Allen Adams stopped a vehicle at 93rd North and Broadway. They arrested Angela Calderwood for two Wichita warrants and one Sedgwick County warrant.

May 24 — Officers Rasheed Berry and Allen Adams responded to theft at 222 S. Meridian. An employee reported a theft had occurred and watched the suspects walk to Lions Park. Officer Erik Nygaard located two males who fit the description of the suspects. He arrested a juvenile male and an 18-year-old male for a Wichita warrant.

May 24 — Officers Erik Nygaard and Jeremy Manning assisted second shift with the above case.

May 23 — Officer J.C. Kirk was dispatched to assist Newton police and Harvey County sheriff with a chase that ended in the 9600 block of North Broadway. He was disregarded upon arrival.

May 23 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 9012 N. Highpoint Road with a suspicious person. It was a friend of the homeowners, and the officers were disregarded.

May 23 — Officer Rasheed Berry monitored traffic.

May 23 — Officer Jeremy Manning monitored traffic.

May 22 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Raheed Berry responded to a lost property call at 5128 N. Irving Drive, Park City. The calling party had gone to a yard sale near Main and Meridian in Valley Center and realized her billfold was missing when she arrived home. Inside the billfold was a Meritrust Bank card, Express-AARP, United Healthcare Medicare card, a $75 Red Lobster gift card and $200 cash. She said that she don't know why she didn't report it in March. The reason she reported it now is because someone tried to cash a fake personal check in her name at ACE Hardware. An employee called her to verify the check, and she confirmed it was not a good check. Wichita police was called, and a report was made.

May 22 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to 5037 W. 81st North. The calling party said someone dug a trench for electrical service and cut the cable line. Vogt contacted Westar to check into it further.

May 22 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry responded to a domestic disturbance at 5211 W. 81st North. The calling party said his wife was standing in front of his truck and wouldn't let him leave.
