MacKenzie Moldenhauer shows the Grand Champion in the Percentage Charolais Breeding Heifer Division. Teen elected KJCA officer By The News staff Last Updated: June 01, 2017 The Kansas Junior Charolais Association had its annual meeting and show in Hutchinson May 27 and 28. New officers were elected for the 2017 year. MacKenzie Moldenhauer of Valley Center was elected as one of the directors. More than 30 juniors participated in the meeting and showed more than 60 head of cattle. Moldenhauer had four head of cattle in the show — a bull calf that was born in September, a market steer and two Percentage Charolais Breeding Heifers. MacKenzie won both Grand and Reserve Champion in the Percentage Charolais Breeding Heifer Division. The National Junior Charolais Show is in Grand Island, Neb., this summer. The Kansas Juniors have entered more than 65 head of cattle in the show and will be participating in multiple other contests. Moldenhauer plans to compete in the Beef Cook-Off and Impromptu Speech Contest, and she also landed a spot on one of the two Quiz Bowl teams representing Kansas. Moldenhauer will be taking all four of her cattle to Grand Island as well. |
