Police reports

May 21 — Officer J.C. Kirk stood by at 627 Parkway Court while an ex-girlfriend of the calling party removed personal belongings from the house. Kirk also arrested Shelle Manning for a Wichita warrant.

May 21 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry responded to 316 S. Abilene for a welfare check. The calling party thought a 17-month-old and an 8-year-old were alone at Lions Park. Officers found two adult family members watching the children from the opposite side of the park.

May 21 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry responded to 417 N. Meeds for a welfare check. The calling party said he hadn't heard from his ex-wife / coworker in two weeks and couldn't find her at the address. Officers spoke with the woman who said she just didn't want to talk to the calling party, and everything was OK.

May 21 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry responded to 316 E. Clay for a welfare check. The calling party reported a 7-year-old with a 1-year-old at Lions Park unsupervised. Officers determined the children were with two older teenage brothers and the parent knew they were at the park.

May 20 — Officer Sara Schaller assisted Maize police with a traffic stop.

May 20 — Officer Sara Schaller processed service papers for child custody.

May 20 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a disturbance at 110 E. Fifth.

May 20 — Officer Eric Leeker responded to a disturbance at 8345 N. Broadway.

May 20 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to a suspicious person at 351 S Sheridan. The calling party said someone rang the doorbell but she didn't see anyone. Nygaard checked the area but did not see or find anyone.

May 19 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger served a criminal complaint for disorderly conduct at 827 W. Quail.

May 19 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger responded to Fourth and Colby where a person was soliciting without a license. Officers told him what to do if he wanted to continue to solicit.

May 19 — Officer Erik Nygaard stopped a vehicle at Birch and Main and arrested Anthony Hankins on a charge of DUI.

May 18 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger responded to vandalism at 421 N. Emporia. The calling party said overnight sometime threw a rock through the rear window of her vehicle.

May 18 — Officer Eric Leeker checked for a wanted person at 335 S. Sheridan Court.

May 17 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger checked the railroad crossings Ford and Meridian. The calling party reported the arms of the crossing signal were not working correctly. After checking the area, nothing appeared abnormal, and traffic was OK. Dispatch called the railroad as a precaution.

May 17 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger spoke with a resident on the phone at the station. The calling party complained about a train blocking the intersection of Fifth and Interurban. The railroad was called and asked to resolve the issue.

May 17 — Officers Sara Schaller and Ceara Metzger responded to an alarm at 4215 N. Rio Grande. The house was secure, and the alarm was false.

May 17 — Officers Eric Leeker and Ryan Mumma responded to 513 N. Valley Creek Drive. The calling party said she had not heard from her cleaning lady in about three weeks and knew she was going through a rough divorce. Wichita police responded to her residence to try to make contact.

May 16 — Officers J.C. Kirk and Ceara Metzger responded to 720 W. Third and spoke with residents trying to resolve a dispute about a license plate on a sold vehicle.

May 16 — Officers J.C. Kirk and Ceara Metzger assisted a motorist whose car ran out of fuel at 85th North and I-135.

May 16 — Officer Ryan Mumma responded to 222 S. Meridian for a gas run-off.

May 16 — Officer Ryan Mumma assisted Valley Center Fire Department at 69th North and Interurban with a small campfire near the railroad tracks.

May 15 — Officers J. C. Kirk and Ceara Metzger assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 4740 W. 85th North by looking for a vehicle and people pertaining to a suspicious person call.

May 15 — Officers J. C. Kirk and Ceara Metzger provided traffic control for KHP at an accident in the 8300 block of North I-135.

May 15 — Officers J. C. Kirk and Ceara Metzger responded to a disturbance at 134 N. Miles. The calling party said the homeowners got into a verbal argument but didn't want to make a report.

May 15 — Officers J. C. Kirk, Ceara Metzger, Ryan Mumma and Rasheed Berry and Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a non-injury accident at Sixth and Meridian. The calling party did not want to make a report. Officers cited one driver for inattentive driving.

May 15 — Officer Ceara Metzger and Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to 124 S. Dexter to check the welfare of a woman reportedly driving erratically. Everything was OK.

May 15 — Officer Ceara Metzger and Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to vandalism at 300 E. Seventh. Someone snuck onto the McKay Sports Complex and spray painted figures of male genitals over the grass and parking lot.

May 15 — Officer Ceara Metzger and Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted EMS in the 800 block of East Butler.

May 15 — Officer Ceara Metzger and Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to a possible suicide in the 100 block of North Burns.

May 15 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to an alarm at 222 S. Meridian. The alarm went off due to an internal sensor. Manning found the building empty and secure. The alarm was false.

May 15 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to an alarm at 6234 Dodge Avenue. The alarm was set off as the homeowner was leaving. The homeowner contacted the security company and canceled the alarm.
