4-H report Last Updated: May 25, 2017 Valley Victors Jackson Child gave an exciting demonstration about "How to Make a Lava Lamp" using Alka-Seltzer and food coloring. Cassidy Child gave a demonstration about "How to Make Slime" with glue and borax. She also used food coloring and glitter to make it pretty. President Casey Shinkle called the meeting to order and the flag salute was led by Genna Crouch and the 4-H Pledge by Knox Crouch. The thought of the day was provided by Lindsey Reynolds. Roll call was "Tell your favorite thing about your mother" and answered by 16 members. The reports of the March and April meetings ran in the April 20 and 27 Ark Valley News. For leaders' reports: Nancy Anderson announced that the June tour meeting would be held at the Shinkles' home. She also announced that an Arts and Crafts meeting would be held on May 9 and the following week, Monday, May 15, at 4:10 p.m. at West Elementary. She also announced that Betsy Betrose will speak May 16 at 7 p.m. at Great Plains Nature Center on "Photographing Insects." After these announcements, there was a senior ceremony in which Nancy found fun and tasty ways to thank the club's graduating members Casey Shinkle and Cassie Zimmerman. The July meeting will be held at McLaughlin Park. Cassie Zimmerman read a thank-you note from Carol Spillman thanking the club for the brownies given during kindness week. After the meeting, a song was led by Charlie Anderson and Hadley Ishman. Refreshments were provided by the Zimmerman family and the game "Wink" was led by Knox Crouch and Kaden Zimmerman. —Tommy Spratt, reporter |
