Park City to host disc golf tourney
By The News staff
Last Updated: March 23, 2017

Park City Pride, Duck's Flying Discs and Innova Discs will partner with the Park City Convention & Tourism Board to host the inaugural Park City Open Disc Golf Tournament on April 8. The tourney will showcase one of the state's newest golf courses to regional and potentially national professional and amateur golfers. This tournament will also help to raise funds and awareness for the mission of Park City Pride.

The event will be Professional Disc Golf Association sanctioned, consisting of a two-round, 36-hole tournament and offering divisions from professional to juniors. Each player will receive a custom players' pack and a noon meal. Duck's Flying Discs will provide the expertise to run the event, provide a pro shop and function as tournament director.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. for competitors who have not preregistered, closing at 9:35 a.m. Players will receive their players' packs and be allowed to warm up on the course. At 10 a.m. there will be a shotgun start to the first round. Play will end at 5 p.m. with awards. There will be a Throw in the Dark Doubles Glow Round in the evening.

Players can register online at discgolfunited.com Park City Open, or go to Duck's Flying Discs at 813 W. 11th, Wichita, or call 765-2334. Registration is limited to the first 90 players, and the event was more than half filled as of March 17.
