Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students at Abilene Elementary were able to see a "wheat" tractor (they are studying the "wh" blend in phonics) up close and personal Jan. 18.

Brent Conrady, father of kindergarten student Kelby Conrady, was responsible for arranging the special presentation. They learned about plowing the field, planting wheat, and then harvesting it to grind into flour to make bread.

Students also got to take home a wheat stalk/head at the end of the day.
