Jan. 19

First round

5. KC Turner 48, 4. Maize South 43

Maize South had a 10-point early lead, but couldn't hold on as KC Turner opened up the game in the third quarter. Trailing 20-14 at the half, Turner turned it on in the third, outscoring the Mavericks 34-22 in the second half. Turner's Russell Reed had a game-high 19, including five three-pointers, while teammate Jaylin Richardson added 15. No Maverick scored in double figures.

1. Olathe Northwest 72, 8. Wichita Northwest 61

The tournament's No. 1 seed, Olathe Northwest jumped all over Wichita Northwest and won going away. Olathe led 20-8 after the first quarter, stretched its lead to 22 in the second and never let go. Luke Waters led four Olathe players in double figures with 17. Jackson Nicodemus added 16, Jack Parks 11 and Dominic Messina 10. Nicodemus and Messina combined to go six of nine from behind the arc. Michael Duncan, Wichita's 6-foot-6 senior, had 18 points, missing just three shots all night.

6. Valley Center 62, 3. Ulysses 61

Late effort gave Valley Center an opening-round win over Ulysses. Tyler Brown scored 43 points for the Hornets. He went 13 of 28 from the field, including four three-pointers. He also made 13 of 16 free throws. In a game that featured nine lead changes and five ties, Ulysses led 38-37 at halftime. The Hornets outscored Ulysses 17-14 in the third quarter. Jaidon Taylor finished with 27 points for Ulysses, including 15 points from behind the arc. Abraham Romero had 10 and Bryan Garcia 11. Valley Center senior Keyon Saunders had 11 rebounds

2. Topeka Seaman 50, 7. Garden City 39

Topeka Seaman never trailed as the Vikings cruised by Garden City. Topeka led 18-10 after the first quarter and 26-21 at the half. Seaman used 12 players. Topeka's 6-5 senior Tanyon Schafer scored 21 points and had nine rebounds. Jarrod Springston led Garden City with 13 points.

Jan. 20

Consolation semifinals

Wichita Northwest 75, Maize South 63

Northwest blew open a tight game in the third quarter and held on for the victory. Trailing by three at halftime, Northwest outscored Maize South 20-13 in the third quarter and 24-16 in the fourth. The game saw 11 lead changes. Duncan was instrumental in Northwest's victory, scoring 17 points. Jamir Cupps added 14 for the Grizzlies. Kael Kordonowy had 17 for the Mavericks.

Garden City 60, Ulysses 57

Trailing by seven going into the fourth quarter, Garden City got things together, went on a 23-17 run and beat Ulysses. Garden City's Garret Doll scored 15 points. Griff Brunson added 13, including seven-of-seven from the free-throw line. Garden City missed just one free throw all night. Zach Zerr and Bryan Garcia had 14 each for Ulysses. Zerr made all four of his three-point attempts.

Championship semifinals

KC Turner 63, Olathe Northwest 53

Turner continued its hot streak, upsetting the tournament's top seed. Turner led by two at halftime and broke open the contest with a 17-6 third-quarter run. Olathe scored 25 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough. Richardson went off for 27 points, missing just one shot all night. Reed added 15 and Kyle Burge 11. Messina had 18 and Waters had 15 points for Olathe. Charlie Holmgren added 11.

Topeka Seaman 57, Valley Center 54

Valley Center started slowly and could never recover. Seaman never trailed. The Hornets chipped away at Seaman's 13-4 first-quarter lead to trail by three at halftime. Seaman kept the Hornets at arm's length in the second. Schafer had 15 for Seaman. Brown finished with 26 for the Hornets. Lange added 13. Zach Williams had 13 rebounds.

Jan. 21

Seventh place

Maize South 64, Ulysses 50

Maize South finished the tournament with its best performance. The Mavericks broke open a tight first half with a 23-9 third-quarter run. Bryce Wiedemann led Maize South with 18 points. Nola Veenis added 17. Abraham Romero had 13 and Victor Perez added 11 for Ulysses.

Fifth place

Garden City 50, Wichita Northwest 43

Garden City trailed by four at halftime, but outscored Northwest 16-8 in the final eight minutes for the victory. Northwest led 35-34 after the third quarter. Doll had 14 and Demarcus Elliott 12 for Garden City. Dixon had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Northwest.

Third place

Olathe Northwest 62, Valley Center 45

Olathe blew open a tie game in the second quarter and never let Valley Center back in. Olathe led by 10 at the half. Waters scored 28 points, shooting 73 percent from the field, for Olathe. Matt Vanderslice had 12 rebounds. Brown had a quiet 20 for the Hornets. Lange added 11. Williams had seven rebounds.

First place

Topeka Seaman 59, KC Turner 41

Seaman won its first January Jam title with an impressive victory over Turner. Seaman led 17-7 after the first quarter and 29-18 at halftime. The Vikings extended their lead in the third quarter and led by as many as 26. Schafer led a balanced Topeka scoring attack with 11 points. Richardson had 10 for Turner.
