Valley teams resume action next week By THe News Staff Last Updated: December 29, 2016 Valley Center High School and Valley Center Middle School sports teams will return to action next week. Coming off the winter break, the high school basketball teams will host home games Jan. 3 against Ark City. Student theme for the game is Greek/toga. The boys are 2-3 with wins over Cheney and Newton and losses to Eisenhower, Collegiate and Andover. The girls are 4-1 with wins over Eisenhower, Andover, Cheney and Chaparral and a loss to Newton. Action will start at 4:15 p.m. with freshman games. Varsity contests will start at 6. The wrestling squad will resume action Jan. 5 with a dual at Andover Central, followed by a tournament at Derby Jan. 6 and 7 and a tournament at Wichita North Jan. 7. The middle school basketball teams will play Goddard Jan. 5. Boys are on the road; girls at home. |
