PEDRO GONSALVES

Pedro A. "Tony" Gonsalves, 52, of Belle Plaine, died Nov. 22, 2016. He was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force.

He was born Nov. 5, 1964, to Joseph and Victoria (Thomas) Gonsalves in Sanford, Fla. He married Stephanie Harp on Jan. 4, 1997, in Council Grove. He served in the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, daughter Kelsey Gonsalves and sister Jodie Gonsalves. Survivors include his wife of Belle Plaine; sons Zachary (Jere) Gonsalves of Wichita, Justin (Erica) Fortney of Valley Center and Dalton (Sami) Fortney of Belle Plaine; grandson Gage Fortney and granddaughter Harper Fortney, both of Valley Center; mother of Peck; brothers Joseph (Janet) Gonsalves of Derby and Robert Gonsalves of Peck; sisters Angel Gonsalves of Wichita and Kelly Berben of Wichita; and a niece who took great care of him, Ava Berben of Wichita.

Memorial service was Nov. 28 at Council Hill Christian Church in Peck, with interment at Council Hill Cemetery. Memorials to For Pets Sake, in care of Indian Hills Animal Clinic, and can be sent to Cornejo|Day Funeral Home, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington KS 67152.
