Police reports

Nov. 20 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 510 Albert on a domestic violence call. He arrested Thelma Culver on a charge of domestic violence battery.

Nov. 20 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to a parking complaint at 221 S. Meridian. A vehicle was parked over the line into the loading zone for the handicap space. All was resolved without further problems.

Nov. 20 — Officer J.C. Kirk tried to contact the owner of an inoperable vehicle at 328 N. Park. The vehicle was parked in the 400 block of North Meridian.

Nov. 20 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 530 W. Ness and spoke with the calling party's children about consequences of partying and doing drugs, etc.

Nov. 20 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to McLaughlin Park where a few middle school girls took a phone from a boy at the park. The phone was located, and the issue was resolved.

Nov. 20 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to the 400 block of North Interurban where the calling party reported an unknown driver almost hit him and left. A case was generated to document it.

Nov. 20 — Officer Jeremy Manning responded to an alarm at 311 E. Ford. The building was found secure and no entry was made. The alarm was deemed false.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller was dispatched to the 5600 block of North Seneca to assist on a suspicious character call. She was disregarded before arrival.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 85th North and Hydraulic with a traffic stop.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller tried contact a suspect regarding a no-trespass order.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to check the welfare at Second and Sheridan. The calling party was concerned about two children playing near the street. The kids were advised of the dangers of playing near the street.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to the 100 block of South Meridian and assisted a woman whose truck had run out of gas.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller checked a food truck at 69th North and West that appeared to be abandoned. The vehicle had broken down, and the owner returned while the officer was there to have it towed.

Nov. 19 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to a disturbance at 328 S. Meridian. The calling party had her car window broken out by a female and two males after a road rage incident. The case is under investigation.

Nov. 19 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to domestic violence battery a 134 N. Miles. A woman reported that a known male placed his hands around her throat and punched her in the left eye. She did not have any marks to match either. The male said it was verbal only. Officer referred the case to prosecution.

Nov. 18 — Officer Sara Schaller followed up with a woman wanting to pursue additional charges on a case.

Nov. 18 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to a vicious dog at 7811 N. Buena Vista. The calling party reported a pit bull living at this residence tried to attack him and his wife while they were walking, and it had happened before. The officer could not contact the owner and turned it over to animal control.

Nov. 18 — Officer Sara Schaller assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 749 N. Redbud in trying to serve a warrant.

Nov. 18 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to 231 E. Main. A woman said her ex-boyfriend, who had warrants, was at Spirits Pub. The wanted subject was in Colwich and not at Spirits Pub.

Nov. 18 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to Westwind and Weatherly Court for a suspicious character. The calling party reported an occupied SUV was sitting at the intersection and left when he pulled up. The vehicle could not be located.

Nov. 18 — Officer Erik Nygaard assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 109th North and Meridian on a suspicious character call. The calling party reported a male standing on the side of the road with a flashlight and yelling as she drove by. The male could not be located.

Nov. 18 — Officer Erik Nygaard assisted Wichita police on an alarm. The alarm was deemed false.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller received a call from a resident who contacted the officer the prior week. The resident reported being homeless and in need of services. The officer contacted some resources for the resident and referred the resident to places that could help.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller attempted to serve a no-trespass order.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller worked on Christmas and Thanksgiving community policing projects.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller assisted a woman who wanted to report an incident that occurred between her son and another student at Valley Center Intermediate School on Nov. 16.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller responded to 320 Scott for a hit and run. The calling party reported that someone had hit his truck in front of his home. He called from the hospital and said he was on his way into surgery and wouldn't be able to be reached. The officer went to the home to survey the damage. The reporting party will call at a later time to make the report. Pictures were taken of the damage.

Nov. 17 — Officer Sara Schaller assisted EMS at 501 N. Sheridan.

Nov. 17 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted Valley Center fire at 117th North and West Street with a combine on fire in a field. The fire was minor.

Nov. 17 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado assisted EMS at 424 N. Park.

Nov. 17 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted a resident who requested the officer talk with his son about the consequences of running away from home.

Nov. 17 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to Ford and Meridian for an injury accident.

Nov. 17 — Officer Erik Nygaard responded to 220 E. Ford for an alarm. It was deemed false.

Nov. 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 100 N. Emporia on a welfare check. Mother and daughter were fine.

Nov. 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted a resident at the station with a civil matter. The officer advised the resident to contact the court.

Nov. 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted EMS at 9201 N. Osage.

Nov. 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 300 S. Meridian on a suspicious person call. The suspect was waiting on his wife to finish working out.

Nov. 16 — Officer J.C. Kirk responded to 100 E. Main on a welfare check. All were OK.

Nov. 16 — Sgt. Matt Vogt responded to 200 S. Meridian for a hit-and-run.

Nov. 16 — Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to 821 W. Third Terrace, No. 7, for a 911 hang-up call. They checked the residence and everything was OK.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado assisted Sedgwick County sheriff at 5501 N. Sheridan. The calling party wanted to ask officers questions involving her son who had recently been released from the state psychiatric hospital.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to a suspicious person at 502 N. Birch. The calling party reported a man stumbling around her yard, acting drunk. The man told the calling party he used to know the family that lived there. The man was picked up by a vehicle and left.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to a disturbance at 1240 E. Ford, Apt. 308. The calling parties reported that over the last two days, one of their neighbors had been harassing them. The day before they parked in a parking spot, and the suspect became upset, saying that was her parking spot. The calling party said the suspect was very loud and rude to them, saying she would make it her business to mess with them.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to 323 W. 77th North for an animal at-large. Two dogs were running in the road and were close to getting stuck by traffic. While trying to contact the homeowner, an individual taking care of the dogs arrived and told officers the homeowners were out of town and he would take care of the dogs.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to 121 W. Southwind. The calling party was receiving emails discussing a court subpoena and wondered if it was a scam or not.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgts. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to 1120 S. Meridian for a suspicious character. The calling party said two trucks pulled into the north driveway of Magellan's. When officers arrived, they discovered that one of the trucks was the run vehicle from the hit-and-run accident on South Meridian.

Nov. 16 — Officers Ryan Mumma and Ceara Metzger and Sgt. Matt Vogt and Thomas Delgado responded to a runaway at 642 N. Redbud Court. The parents reported when they were driving home their two younger sons got into an argument over the seatbelts in the back of the vehicle. They stopped at 29th North and Ridge when their oldest son got out of the car and ran off while cussing at his parents. The parents looked for an hour before calling 911. He was found by a passerby on K-96 and Maize Road. The son was returned home and was released to his parents.

Nov. 16 — Officers Jeremy Manning and Erik Nygaard checked businesses around town.

Nov. 15 — Officer J.C. Kirk performed a follow up at 100 S. Meridian on a traffic case. A citation was issued.

Nov. 15 — Officer J.C. Kirk performed a follow up at 1334 W. 61st North on a trespass case.

Nov. 14 — Officer J.C. Kirk assisted third shift with transporting a juvenile to jail.

Nov. 14 — Officer J.C. Kirk checked children at 6601 N. Seneca after their mother called to say they were not at school. The kids were home with their father, and he said that they were absent from school because of feeling sick. He said he had already contacted the school.

Nov. 14 — Sgt. Matt Vogt assisted a resident at the station who turned in a found cell phone. She had already contacted the owner who said he would contact the police to pick it up.

Nov. 14 — Officer Shannon Meyer responded to 222 S. Meridian where a woman was found intoxicated by her husband. She didn't cooperate with him and caused a disturbance. After the officer spoke with them, the wife left with her sister, and her husband took the kids home.

Nov. 17 – Ford and Meridian, injury auto accident.

Nov. 17 – 522 N. Abilene, allergic reaction.

Nov. 16 – Fifth and Highpoint, assist law enforcement officer.

Nov. 16 – 9201 N. Osage, chest pains.

Nov. 14 – 2 N. Ora Court, heart problems.

Nov. 14 – 8944 N. Highpoint, permit.
