Two juveniles from the Wichita area were taken into custody early Nov. 14 accused of an armed robbery at Kwik Shop in Valley Center.

Police Chief Mark Hephner said the two suspects went into the store about 4:30 a.m. wearing facemasks. One suspect had a handgun. They demanded cash from the register and cigarettes. The store's clerk complied. There were two employees inside at the time.

The suspects drove away in what turned out to be a stolen vehicle.

A store employee provided a description of the vehicle.

Park City police attempted to stop the vehicle near 85th and Hydraulic. However, it sped away. Spike strips were set, and the vehicle was finally stopped in the 4100 block of North Hydraulic, Hephner said.

One of the suspects ran from the vehicle, but was caught after a short chase.

The vehicle was impounded. One of the suspects was taken to the hospital to be checked for a medical condition. Both suspects were booked into the juvenile detention center.
