Valley Center High School musical set for Nov. 18 and 19

The cast and crew of Valley Center High School's fall musical want to take their audiences back to a time when computers were huge and love loomed just as large.

Welcome to "Loserville."

Valley Center will present the musical at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19 in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.

Michael Dork, played by Gabe Karst, is a computer nerd smitten by a girl with brains and looks, Holly (played by Ashlyn Reese), who also wants to be the first woman in space.

It's love and science in 1971.

"Loserville" features more than 20 cast members and more than 20 chorus and company singers.

Directed by Megan Upton-Tyner, with musical direction by Mike McCormick, the musical features two acts and nearly a dozen songs, ending with "Ticket Outta Loserville," sung by the 19-member company.
