The George B. Tack Memorial Flute Committee is one of the many art-related nonprofits participating in the Wichita Art Day of Giving (ArtDOG), scheduled for April 29. Organized by the Wichita Community Foundation, ArtDOG is an innovative online fundraising event that encourages Wichitans to donate as much money as possible in support of their favorite arts organizations in just 24 hours.

"The Tack Flute Committee makes a difference by sponsoring events in central Kansas that benefit flutists of all ages and levels since 1984," said Dr. Ellen Johnson Mosley, a 1998 Valley Center High School graduate, board member of the George B. Tack Memorial Flute Committee and flute instructor at Butler Community College. "We are excited to partner with other nonprofits around Wichita to see how much we can raise to serve our communities. Last year we raised hundreds of dollars that helped us cover flute repairs for high school flutists playing Tack flutes, and we'd like to see that grow in 2016 so we can help even more students. The impact of playing a quality instrument for a young person is lifelong."

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on April 29, and continuing until 11:59 p.m., residents can go to ICTArtDOG.org, connect with causes like those of the George B. Tack Memorial Flute Committee and make tax-deductible donations to support the important work of Wichita arts charities.

"Last year, we came together as a community and raised an astounding $1.17 million," said Shelly Prichard, president and CEO of the Wichita Community Foundation. "The creativity that comes from the participating arts organizations and the generosity of donors are what makes this project a success."
